Typefaces

We have created a unique typeface Macmillan Headline for use on Macmillan communications. This typeface is a crucial part of our look and is a very recognisable part of our identity.

Macmillan Headline has a hand-drawn feel which lends our words a sense of humanity and urgency. Its upper case letters give our messages authority.

Our secondary typeface is Futura. This has simple, geometric forms which compliment Macmillan Headline well.

When Macmillan Headline and Futura are not available, for example when we are publishing material at a local level, we use Arial. We use Arial in Powerpoint and other Microsoft Office applications, so that we always achieve a consistent look irrespective of which fonts the viewer may have.
