How we look
Paper and printing
We print on an uncoated recycled paper in almost all cases.
Macmillan's chosen recycled paper range is 9lives Offset.
The standard weight (grammage) for leaflets, posters and flyers is 140gsm.
If your item is being printed on recycled paper, please include the following text on the back:
This paper is 100% recycled and chlorine free
(Welsh translation is Mae’r papur hwn wedi’i ailgylchu 100% ac nid yw’n cynnwys clorin)
And include the recycling logo.

Proofing
All items that are to be printed commercially should be adequately proofed
before the artwork is approved and at the print stage. Ask your designer and/or printer to
supply proofs. Screen PDFs or print outs from a desktop colour printer will not be accurate
enough. At the print stage you will usually receive a digital proof – which is made by a
mechanical process and is produced using a slightly coated material. There will be a difference
in colour from the end result which will usually be on uncoated paper. This should not affect
the ability of our suppliers to match to our specified colours.
Macmillan preferred suppliers
Macmillan has a preferred supplier list for the production of printed materials
managed by the Marketing Services team. The suppliers are all signed up to our specific terms
and conditions of supply.
Product codes
All printed items managed by the Marketing Services team carry a Macmillan
product code. This helps with warehousing, distribution and asset management.
Supplying artwork
Print ready PDFs, Quark or In-Design files and hard copy should be supplied for the production of all printed materials.
