How we work with others

Frequently asked questions

  • Can another company use the Macmillan headline font?
No. No other company may use Macmillan Headline font. For guidelines go how we look/typefaces
  • Can the logo exist without ‘we are’ in We are Macmillan Cancer Support?
The logo must be used in its entirety. We are Macmillan Cancer Support is the full logo.
  • Should the logo always be used on its side?
No. The logo can be used vertically and horizontally. For guidelines go to how we look/using our logo.
  • Can we add a strapline to the logo?
No. Using statements like 'in support of' and ‘in association with’ undermine the 'we' of We are Macmillan Cancer Support. Supporters and services partners are part of that 'we', so this issue goes to the heart of what our new brand is all about. However, you should always include a clear paragraph of copy explaining the relationship between Macmillan and the partner.
  • Can we combine our identity with our partner’s?
No. You should never create a hybrid of two identities. This is confusing for the reader because it is not clear who the author is, or what the relationship is. It is potentially damaging to the Macmillan brand.
