A (very) quick guide to how we look

Things have changed ever so slightly from what we used to look like. Here’s our (very) quick guide to what’s changed – but that’s not an excuse for you not to read the rest of the guidelines in full, they’re chock full of do’s and don’ts, and handy tips. See more in our full guidelines >|

What we've changed

Our graphic silhouettes

Graphic silhouettes

The biggest change we’ve made is to our silhouettes. They are now more photographic with much more detail inside, but still staying as simple as possible. Using this extra detail helps us stand out from others.

Our colours

Our colours

We are, and always will be, green. However, when the time calls for it, we’ve introduced a secondary colour palette.

Our photography

Our photography

We’ve changed the style of our photography so that it feels more ‘Macmillan’. It’s still capturing the moment but from someone’s point of view.

Our graphic panels

Our graphics panels

We’ve also added some graphic panels to our repertoire. They’re an extension of Macmillan Headline, so should only be used with it to highlight words and phrases. Oh and they should be used in place of a silhouette (never together with a silhouette).

Our infographics

Our infographics

Cancer is tricky to visualise. The numbers involved are huge and the concepts can be abstract. To break this information down to a more human scale we’ve developed a unique and Macmillan style of infographics, using the ‘hand-drawn’ language of Macmillan Headline.

Our animations

Our animations

We’ve built on the handmade quality of Macmillan Headline and created a brush stroke technique for our animations.
